“More than 85 research studies conducted over the past 30 years prove that kids do better when parents are involved. Grades are higher. Test scores improve. Attendance increases.”– National Parent Teacher Association
Ultimately, it’s for the kids. We, the parents and families of Lincoln, strive to provide the most diverse, engaging, and encouraging school environment possible.
We strongly believe that a key element in achieving that goal is offering well rounded education. To that end, the Lincoln PTA has committed to funding school programs that go beyond the basics. That bring back the joyous, the creative, the exhilarating.
To paint with pastels. Sing with a chior. Dig in garden. Play outside. These are the things that are missing from so many schools toady. Budget cuts and standardization have taken their toll.
This is why our PTA fully supports Art, Music, PE, social activities, spring carnival, and so much more! But these programs do not come for free. In fact, for many of these programs the Lincoln PTA is the only reason they exist. Our state funding simply does not provide for the “extras” any more.
So we ask, simply, for your support. Be it financial. Or a small contribution of your time. Or simply attending a PTA meeting to see what is happening this month.
All parents are welcome in the PTA. This is a low-key, friendly group (we promise!) Meetings are generally held at 8 A.M. on the first Wednesday of each month. See our calendar for details. Please join us in keeping Lincoln the best little school in Ventura!
