A WORD FROM OUR NEW PRINCIPAL

Dear Lincoln families,

My name is Mark Asher and I will be the new principal at Lincoln this year. I feel incredibly fortunate to have this opportunity to be a member of such a remarkable school and community. I look forward to meeting you all and beginning many long-lasting partnerships.

I was born and raised in Camarillo attending schools in the Pleasant Valley School in K-8, then Camarillo High School. After high school, I attended UC Santa Barbara, San Diego State University, and California Lutheran University for my bachelor’s degree, teaching credential and master’s degree.

I took my first teaching job at Los Altos Middle School in Camarillo in the year 2000. I then moved to Monte Vista Middle School as a teacher and then a counselor. I served as an Assistant Principal at Ocean View Jr. High in Oxnard. In 2013, I became principal at Dos Caminos and spent my 6 years there. My last two years were spent as principal at Tierra Linda Elementary School, also in Camarillo. I am now looking forward to my new home as a Dragon at Lincoln.

I currently live in Ventura with my wife, Danielle, and our 3 daughters, Ella (14), Emery (1) and Evryn (7). Our family loves camping, hiking, spending days at the beach, and many other outdoor activities.

As principal of Lincoln, I plan to build upon the successes that our students, families, and staff members have accomplished over the years. Together we will create opportunities for our children to grow, both academically and social-emotionally, by providing enriching experiences to challenge and engage them into new learning. I am confident that the 2021-2022 school year will be a great one!

Sincerely,

Mark Asher, Principal
